An Introduction To Power Web 2.8
Power Web 2.8 is very similar to it's predecessors, but has a number of improvements, which make it well worth upgrading to. The following is a brief rundown on some of its new features.
***As this is just a quick run through of Version 2.8, it won't contain tutorials on creating or changing webpages, adding forms, uploading media etc. For details instructions on how to get the most out of Power Web, click HERE.
First, let's look at the Administration page. This is the page you will see when you first log in with your admistrator password.

If you have already used previous versions of Power Web, this will already be familiar to you. If not, don't worry! This really is a simple yet totally functional system, and you'll have the hang of it in no time.
So lets start at the beginning. To use the functions on this menu, you can either click the tabs across the top, or the icons in the main screen. And usually, the first one you will click on will be to create a page. So let's begin with Pages.
Pages.
Once you've clicked Pages, you will see this screen.

Here you can see the pages you've already created on your site, and the place where you can create more. Version 2.8 of Power Web now enables you to "drag and drop" your pages into whatever position you want them in, which makes it a lot faster than when you had to use the up/down arrows, (which are still visible on the right of the pages menu.)
When you create a page you will go to the editor, where you can place text and images.

Version 2.8 now has a droplets function in the editor toolbar. This allows you to insert PHP code anywhere on your website.
(For more details on using the editor, please see our Power Web Tutorials.)
Power Web lets you change some settings on your site, via the "Change Settings" option at the top of the screen.

On this page you can change the page title, assign a parent page to your webpage, write a page description, and add some basic keywords. We would advise against playing around on this page too much, as you may cause irreparable harm to your page with your mindless fumbling!
Now it is also possible to create a webpage that will appear on your site on a predetermined date, and stay visible for as long as you choose. This would be ideal for creating pages such as "End Of Year Stocktake Sale", which you can create ahead of time, set to appear for a week, then vanish. This function can be accessed via "Manage Sections".

This is also the area where you can create forms, add coding and many other functions.
Media.
Here is where you can upload all the images you want to put onto your webpages. This is basically the same as previous versions, but has a couple of new features. Now you can actually see what images are in your media section via the thumbnails that appear next to the image name. Also, for the first time it's possible to upload zipped folders saving you time, and memory.

Add Ons.
Here you can -
Preferences.

This page is to change your basic info, such as timezone, email address and password.
Settings.

This page is for general settings on your site. We recommend you don't play with it too much unless you know what you are doing. For more information on making changes here, please contact us.
Admin Tools.

This page contains your Admin support features. More can be added as modules, in your Add Ons section. again, we advise that unless you know what you are doing, you dont play in this section.
Access.

Here is where you can nominate which people in your business can log in to your admin section and change your site. You control who has access via username and password.
You can also create groups of people, (such as "Workshop", or "Office") and limit the access they have and changes they can make to your site.
